Start the new year by being prepared for all the seasons this year will bring. Follow these seasonal tips to make sure you’re ready for the road.
Spring
• New Windshield Wipers: Winter can take a toll on your wiper blades, so make sure to check and replace them if necessary.
• Replace Tires: If you drove all winter with winter tires, it’s time to replace them with your standard set. If you drive with all-season tires throughout the year, rotate them for longer life.
Summer
• Oil Changes: Make sure to stay on top of regular oil changes. Summer is the season of moving and hauling, which means changing oil more frequently.
• Rotate Tires: Summer’s also the season for long road trips. Make sure to rotate your tires every 5,000-7,000 miles and check the tire tread to ensure a safe and easy road trip. Need help checking the tread of your tires? Check out our guide here!
Fall/Winter
• Heater/Defroster: Not having your defroster working properly could mean low visibility through your windshield. Make sure to check your owner’s manual and replace any necessary filters.
• Carry Emergency Gear: Alongside your emergency safety kit that contains road salt, a snow shovel, and an ice scraper, it’s important to keep an extra pair of gloves, blankets, flares, a flashlight, and extra snacks in your glove box.
